## What does this implement/fix? Related to music-assistant/support#6014 Zone2/main-sync players (e.g. a zone joined via Main Zone Sync) basically never update outside of a UDP push for that specific zone, or an availability flap. On a network where the receiver can't reach the app's UDP listener, that means never. Two separate bugs here, both found digging into the same issue: `poll()` was only ever pushing the fetched data to the main-zone player, even though `physical_device.fetch()` pulls fresh data for every zone on the device in one call. Sibling zones had no periodic refresh path at all. Also dropped the `update_lock.locked()` early-return at the top — it could silently skip the whole poll (including the new refresh) if a UDP callback happened to be running at the exact moment the scheduled tick fired. Separately, a main-sync zone's `state` could never report PAUSED/IDLE. `is_netusb` only matches whichever zone is actually running the netusb session, and a main-sync zone's `source_id` is always `main_sync`, so it fell through to PLAYING forever no matter what actually happened. `netusb_playback` is device-wide though, so widened the check to cover main-sync zones too. Tested both live against two TSR-700s (one on a native MA queue, one on Main Zone Sync) - zone2 entities refresh on the normal poll cycle now, and the main-synced one correctly follows the leader through play/pause/idle/play. ## Types of changes - [x] Bugfix (non-breaking change which fixes an issue) — `bugfix` - [ ] New feature (non-breaking change which adds functionality) — `new-feature` - [ ] Enhancement to an existing feature — `enhancement` - [ ] New music/player/metadata/plugin provider — `new-provider` - [ ] Breaking change (fix or feature that would cause existing functionality to not work as expected) — `breaking-change` - [ ] Refactor (no behaviour change) — `refactor` - [ ] Documentation only — `documentation` - [ ] Maintenance / chore — `maintenance` - [ ] CI / workflow change — `ci` - [ ] Dependencies bump — `dependencies` ## Checklist - [x] The code change is tested and works locally. - [x] `pre-commit run --all-files` passes. - [x] `pytest` passes, and tests have been added/updated under `tests/` where applicable. - [ ] For changes to shared models, the companion PR in `music-assistant/models` is linked. - [ ] For changes affecting the UI, the companion PR in `music-assistant/frontend` is linked. - [x] I have read and complied with the project's [AI Policy](https://github.com/music-assistant/.github/blob/main/AI_POLICY.md) for any AI-assisted contributions. - [ ] I have [raised a PR against the documentation repository](https://github.com/music-assistant/music-assistant.io/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md) targeting the main or beta branch as appropriate. --------- Co-authored-by: OzGav <[email protected]>
