# What does this implement/fix? Groundwork for supporting Spotify Soloist (Spotify's new official headless client for Linux) in Music Assistant. Spotify accounts created since late 2024 do not work with the reverse-engineered librespot/go-librespot clients, so upcoming changes will offer Soloist as an alternative backend for both Spotify Connect and the Spotify music provider. This PR adds the shared plumbing both will use; nothing user-facing changes yet. - New `providers/spotify_connect/soloist.py` (owned by the Spotify Connect provider, reused by the Spotify music provider later): managed download of the Soloist binary straight from Spotify's CDN (consent-gated, strict archive/ELF validation, atomic install with rollback, refresh before the 90-day build expiry) plus a typed client for Soloist's local WebSocket API - New `helpers/pulse_capture.py`: a private, MA-owned PulseAudio server with per-instance pipe sinks, used to capture audio from clients (like Soloist) that can only play via PulseAudio/PipeWire - The reusable PulseAudio volume/module controller moved out of the local_audio provider into the shared helper (call sites unchanged) - Unit tests for both helpers (48 new tests) **Related issue (if applicable):** - related issue n/a ## Types of changes <!-- Tick exactly one box.
