# What does this implement/fix? ## Update Yandex Music provider from v3.8.2 to v3.8.8 **Source:** [trudenboy/ma-provider-yandex-music](https://github.com/trudenboy/ma-provider-yandex-music) · [v3.8.8](https://github.com/trudenboy/ma-provider-yandex-music/releases/tag/v3.8.8) This synchronizes the in-tree Yandex Music provider with six provider releases that accumulated after v3.8.2. ### User-facing changes - Replace the removed popup-based authentication integration with Music Assistant's current guided setup flow. QR login is the default, Device Code login remains available, abandoned interactive sessions stop after 15 minutes, and stored session credentials can refresh the music token automatically. - Add manual-token login and a validated one-shot token replacement option for existing instances. Invalid replacements leave the working credentials unchanged, and authentication can be restarted through the standard Reconfigure action. - Improve the QR and Device Code instructions and localization, including a high-contrast QR image and a clearer device-code card. - Load recommendation rows on demand, keep rotating Mood and Activity row metadata stable without discovery-time backend requests, and expose My Wave as a dynamic playlist so Music Assistant can refill it during playback. - Share concurrent fetches for the same regular, Liked Tracks, or My Wave playlist, reducing duplicate Yandex requests when multiple consumers request the playlist at once. ### Maintenance and compatibility - Update `ya-passport-auth[ma]` from 1.7.0 to 1.8.0 for the current shared RFC 8628 polling behavior. - Align provider configuration, private-method ordering, lint compatibility, translations, and tests with the current `music-assistant/server` contracts. - Expand coverage for setup/authentication, configuration entries, localization, playlist request sharing, recommendations, and audiobook search. **Related issue (if applicable):** - N/A ## Types of changes - [ ] Bugfix (non-breaking change which fixes an issue) — `bugfix` - [ ] New feature (non-breaking change which adds functionality) — `new-feature` - [x] Enhancement to an existing feature — `enhancement` - [ ] New music/player/metadata/plugin provider — `new-provider` - [ ] Breaking change (fix or feature that would cause existing functionality to not work as expected) — `breaking-change` - [ ] Refactor (no behaviour change) — `refactor` - [ ] Documentation only — `documentation` - [ ] Maintenance / chore — `maintenance` - [ ] CI / workflow change — `ci` - [ ] Dependencies bump — `dependencies` ## Checklist - [x] The code change is tested and works locally. - [x] `pre-commit run --all-files` passes. - [x] `pytest` passes, and tests have been added/updated under `tests/` where applicable. - [ ] For changes to shared models, the companion PR in `music-assistant/models` is linked. - [ ] For changes affecting the UI, the companion PR in `music-assistant/frontend` is linked. - [x] I have read and complied with the project's [AI Policy](https://github.com/music-assistant/.github/blob/main/AI_POLICY.md) for any AI-assisted contributions.
