- Makes
- 4 servings
Instructions
Grease a baking dish and put in a layer of toast. Then add a layer of apple slices and scatter cinnamon sugar, raisins and a few ground hazelnuts over it. Repeat, finishing with a layer of toast.
Whisk the milk well with the icing sugar, vanilla sugar and eggs, season again with cinnamon sugar and slowly pour it over the bake. The top layer should be well soaked!
Meanwhile the oven should have heated to 175 °C. Bake for about 30-40 minutes. Check now and then; if it gets too dark, cover with aluminium foil.
Notes
To serve
Make Dr. Oetker vanilla sauce to go with it; it tastes good too!
Scheiterhaufen
Mom's Scheiterhaufen recipe is the same dish ("siehe Ofenschlupfer").
