# What does this implement/fix?
Speakers that use the simulated ("fake") mute control — players without
a real mute command, where Music Assistant mutes by turning the volume
down to zero — came back to life as soon as the group volume was
changed, even though they were deliberately muted.
In a group where some speakers can mute natively and others cannot, this
looked especially odd: after muting the group and then nudging the
volume, part of the group started playing again while the rest stayed
silent.
A muted speaker now stays silent through a group volume change and only
comes back when it is unmuted, at the volume it had before it was muted.
